Daily Question # 21 October 24, 2008

Posted by Chandrakant in Uncategorized.

It was thought to have been named after A . But , it was actually named as a corruption of the name of B . What ?

The  Mazda  corporation  was  thought  to  have  been  named  after  the  Zoroastrian  deity  Ahura  Mazda (A) , but  the  theory  which  holds  better  ground  is  that  it  is  the  anglicized  pronunciation  of  Jujiro  Matsuda (B) , founder  of  the  company .

Cracked  by  Anon ( who  wants  a  home  away  from  home )  and  the  man  with  the  broken  sword , Varma 🙂 .

Is that Mazda Motor Corpn ?

One version is that its named after Mazda, the chief deity of the Zoroastrians…

The other theory is its a good english version of the founder’s name Matsuda ….

Guess the latter theory has more grounds….
