X was originally supposed to be named after A . Y shows a promotional snap of B . Y is a direct tribute to C who came up with X . B did this because B and C belong to the same town .

The album Abbey Road ( X ) by Beatles ( C ) was supposed to be called Everest ( A ) initially . Y is a promotional ad brought out by Liverpool FC ( B ) as a tribute to the Beatles and the ad is a direct copy of the cover of Abbey Road .

It has happened only twice in history . The first time was in 1984 when A and B were involved . C and D gave a repeat performance in 2000 . What ?
Nancy Hogshead (A) and Carrie Steinseifer(B) tied for gold in the 1984 Olympics in the 100 m freestyle event . The only other time the gold was shared in a swimming event in the Olympics was in 2000 when Gary Hall Jr (C) and Anthony Ervin (D) clocked the same time in the 50 m freestyle event .

It was thought to have been named after A . But , it was actually named as a corruption of the name of B . What ?
The Mazda corporation was thought to have been named after the Zoroastrian deity Ahura Mazda (A) , but the theory which holds better ground is that it is the anglicized pronunciation of Jujiro Matsuda (B) , founder of the company .

A (the bearded figure in the pic) made his mark as a voice actor in Hollywood , but his most famous role was that of X in the original broadway version B which came out in 1965 . He was featured as himself in a 1990 book Y by C .He was later cast as himself in the movie adaptation of Y . This probably is the only instance of a celebrity appearing in a book, and then later cast as himself in the film version.
